Bottles Suck, caps Leak On Side Storage, Last 2 Bottles Lost!

Cheap caps...will go back to bailies now,as at least get to use the liquor instead of cleaning up leakage from my beer fridge including a damn carpet cleaner. Congrats on saving the company 2 cents per bottle! Asshats!

A Honey Of A Liquer

We have been enjoying Carolans for more than 3 years, and have never experienced the 'cottage cheese' difficulties of other reviewers (I suspect that their local liquor establishments keep their stocks in sweltering attics).

The addition of honey really sets this one apart from the others, and the whiskey to cream ratio in Carolans makes for a tasty alternative to Bailey's, which tastes like whipping cream with a little booze mixed in as an afterthought. Ah, well; to each his own. Nicely priced, too. It probably won't appeal to the booze snobs who buy solely by the name on the label.

Solid Substance

I opened the bottle for the first time and it was solid mass. No drinking this stuff.

I had the same problem ! I wanted to open it when camping , but it wouldn't come out of the bottle, it was brand new 1.14 litres....what a waste of money !!!

Cottage Cheese

Purchased two bottles of Carolans Irish Cream last Thanksgiving. First bottle was very good. Did not open 2nd bottle until Christmas Eve it was like cottage cheese. Certainly could not serve to my guest. I know to refrigerate an opened bottle of Carolans Irish Cream, but this bottle was completely sealed. I went to Carolans web site to contact them, just impossible. Their link would not accept my post, and another think one of the questions they asked and would not allow me to type in any answer than their answer was how often did I use Carolans Irish Cream, their site had DAILY typed in and even trying to back space & delete their answer to typer in my own answer it would not allow me to do it. No phone number on the bottle of Carolans to call them. I purhased this bottle while out of state and I certainly can not return it to the liquor store where I made the purhase but if I can find a way to reach Carolans I will make the request they give me a refund or send me a new bottle or send me a new bottle of Irish Cream

The same thing happened to me. I tried to get on their site to let them know what happened and just could not get through. Doubt that we'll be buying this product again.

What Is This Stuff?

I have tried every Irish Cream (some "so called") that I've been able to find in my local stores. I had tried Carolans in the past and was not impressed. Most recent "find" is St. Brendan's - absolute closest to Bailey's if that's your preference, and very reasonable. Was out of town recently and only alternative to Baileys ($30.00)in store was Carolans, so bought a bottle. It was even worse than I remembered. Back home now, and the Carolan's will sit with what remains in it since we stocked up on St. Brendan's. Noted, this cream originated way back in 1978. This is not an old traditional Irish cream recipe, more like a cheap, fakey impersonator.

Best Value For Money

To compare I bought and drank Baileys, Amarula and other cheap and 2 other pricy cream liquers....

but at this is the best so far interms of being genuine.

Its not only well priced compared to its competition....especially when there is a sale, but its also thick in feel and taste. You get the best of both worlds of quality/taste and price. I think when you compaire it with Baileys and Amarula its just a matter of brand recognition that put the two ahead interms of pricing. I like things that are not overpriced or overated and Carolans ticks all the boxes.

Smooth And Rich

Hello,

I wanted to contact you and thank you for the wonderful product you produce. My husband and I enjoy you Carolans Irish Cream weekly. We make coffee on Saturday and Sundays and love the creamer. We buy our bottle at Bob's Wine and Liquor in Knoxville, TN and the price is great. The reason I am writing is the bottle it self is not pouring freindly. Once it is open the spout becomes messey and leaks down the sides. We will continue to purchase your product because we love it but I thought you should know what people are saying. I just rinse the bottle off after each use so I don't have a mess on my refrigerator shelf and it works. Thank you for your consideration in the matter.

The Best!

I love everything about Carolans, the smooth caramel-like flavour. Baileys tastes powdery by comparison - yuk.

I`ve told friends and relatives about it and converted many of them to Carolans since I always used to have it in the house for them to sample.

However just lately I can`t find a local shop that stocks it, not even the big supermarkets.

I was wondering why this is? It has more than doubled in price and I can`t afford £14 a bottle. I will have to put it on my Christmas list!

(At it`s cheapest I used to pay £6 per bottle)

"made Wine" Not Whisky. Tastes Like Grappa.

I don't understand the 5* reviews, they are clearly to promote the drink. I bought it because it is cheaper than Baileys but wish I hadn't. After one taste I looked at the ingredients on the bottle and it lists 'made wine' which does not taste remotely like whisky. Despite being several percent less strong than Baileys, the unpleasant aftertaste of Grappa really persists. No wonder they try to cover this up with honey. Eugh. Also it is much thinner than Baileys, more like milk. It is cheaper because it is not the same drink. You will also spoil hot chocolate if added - I've never thought what hot chocolate needs is fortified grape alcohol.

Disappointing, Disgusting

Recently got an unopened 750ML bottle of Carolans Irish Cream from my in-laws that they had just bought, and went to pour some in a glass and nothing came out. Looked into the bottle and it looked like it was wax or was coated over. Upon further inspection the entire bottle was a giant chunk of goo. I put in a chopstick and stirred it around and when I pulled it out it was a bunch of little chunks. I am assuming wherever they got it from it had been exposed to excessive heat as the bottle says they use real cream in it so it is spoiled. It also had a bit of a sour smell to it. Very disappointed and will NEVER buy this. Stick with Baileys tastes better and does NOT spoil!!! You get what you pay for and Baileys is worth the cost. Looked for a phone number or date on the bottle and package could find none. Not sure if I got an old bottle or the store or distributor spoiled it.

The same thing happened to me. I have used Carolans for years and have always enjoyed it. Needless to say I was very disappointed when I opened the bottle and had similar results as you. I have e-mailed the company three times, but have not received any kind of answer. I was sure to include all numbers on the box and bottle.
