Blackthorn Dry

I was interested to try this cider, as I have recently jumped on the cider train... but, much to my dismay, this... is disgusting. The girl at the liquor store assured me it was comparable to Strongbow. She was a dirty liar. I can't even taste a hint of apple. All my palate signals back to my brain is the taste of canned tuna. Even the SMELL is like tuna... ugh. I do not recommend this... to anyone... ever.

Smells like skunk water. Not sure what it tastes like, but it's not apples, that's for sure. The good news is that it's cheap. The bad news is that it's bad.

Not recommended.

I have just had the misfortune of foolishly purcasing four cans of Dry Blackthorn. Having just finished the first I feel compelled to announce just how bad I think it is. What is it meant to taste of exactly? I cant even bring myself to attempt a second! As for the colour of the stuff it looks as if it were created in a lab by ICI.

Well i've been drinkin' Blackthorn cider since i was 20 years old and now i'm 35. I can't remember when but a while back when i went on a diet and cut out alcohol for a bit, when i came back to Blackthorn it said it had a new improved taste. Well i remember drinking those cans and thinking that something in my tastebuds had changed but then never bought it again. This is crazy when you think that i have been drinking the stuff for the best part of 15 years. The feeling of that first ice cold can when i came home from work followed by the most fantastic burp ever, what the hell did they put in that stuff. The new stuff just tastes like some one has watered down some rubbish cider, it bears no resemblance to the original at all.

Absolutely awful - I used to drink the original Blackthorn, which had its own original taste. This new weaker brew is rubbish - I will not be drinking Blackthore any more.

I hear they're bringing back the old recipe Blackthorn.

It can't happen soon enough for me.

Who's idea was it to change a winning recipe for goodness sake?

If it ain't broke - don't fix it !

OH MY GOD !, What have they done to this once superb drink I wouldn't recommend this to my enemies let a loan my best friends. I have drank Blackthorn for many years but unless they change the recipe back to what it was I for one will not be buying it again. To sweet and leaves a very nasty after taste.

I thought it was a bad batch but now am convinced that its the new taste I dont like... bring back the old taste Blackthorn Dry!!!

Blackthorn changed the recipe and strength. It used to be great now it is rubbish, nothing like it used to be.
