Only Used Approx 6 Times Then Main Drive Shaft Snapped
I bought this drill as a heavy duty drill so as not to over work my smaller ones. What a mistake, I have only used it approx 6 times and today the drive shaft to the chuck has snapped. I don't think is a part that should ever snap and of course the drill is out of warranty.
Don't buy this drill, it is of extremely poor quality, I will now go and buy a Black & Decker heavy duty drill, if it lasts as long as my lighter duty B&D I will at least of got my money's worth out if it.
Absolute rubbish.

High Specs Poor Build Quality. Bits Break Easily.
Looked good value for money as the specification was high but this turned out to be a false economy. The chuck started to fail on the second day of use but when I contacted Ryobi for help they said the chuck was not covered under the guarantee so I had to buy a replacement. This was to be half the price of a new machine! So I bought another type for £20. I tried to remove the old chuck but found the lock nut (left handed thread) impossible to remove as the metal was soft and it rounded. Drilled this out and held in the chuck stop button to remove the old chuck and the button snapped! DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY AND LONGEVITY.

I Had Only Used My Drill For A Dozen Or So Times,
I had only used my drill for a dozen or so times, when it broke. The locking button which you depress to lock the chuck onto the drill bit had failed. Closer inspection found that part of the gear casing had broken (poor casting?). I didn't have a receipt so was told there was nothing that could be done. I ordered a new Gear Casing, but thsat never materialised. Am now stuck with a drill that is in perfect working order apart from the fact that I cant actually tighten up drill bits in it! Disappointing, to say the least!

Rubbish - Defective Manufacturing Strikes Again.
RUBBISH - Defective manufacturing strikes again.
The keyless chuck fails to lock after only using a few times. The metal casing that keeps it in place is metal casting that is not fit for purpose. I always used to buy Ryobi - NEVER AGAIN!
I think Black and Decker budget range was better than this.
I think that JUNK sums this up.

My Ryobi Impact Drill Failed After Approximately 6
My Ryobi Impact Drill failed after approximately 6 months. The keyless chuck failed to lock after only using half a dozen times! I later found that the actual casing had broken (brittle metal casting)where the manual stop-rod locates on the shaft. I had bought it from B&Q but as I no longer had the receipt they would not help me but gave me the number of the local Ryobi Service Centre. Without a receipt they also wouldn't touch the drill! Very disappointed with the quality of this 'not cheap' drill and not impressed with lack of service!
I found this review very helpful because... I was looking to buy this product and was finding it difficult to get service/waranttee info from the Ryobi agent - confirmed my suspisions

Obtained Ryobi Eid-100-2re Hammer Drill From Screw
Obtained Ryobi EID-100-2RE Hammer Drill from Screwfix as a present. When the drill failed after about 2 weeks use niether Ryobi or Screwfix would offer support. I think Ryobi drills are over priced and are of poor quality.
I Got The Ryobi Eid-100-2re Hammer Drill Drill As
I got the Ryobi EID-100-2RE Hammer Drill drill as a work leaving present, so I was not given a receipt. When I contacted Ryobi customer services they did not want to hear my complaint, and they told me to throw the drill away. I still have the drill, for the time being.
