Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

I went to see Anchorman - 2: The legend Continues, I was very excited about seeing this sequel to "The legend of Ron Burgundy" one of my Favourite movies of all time.

In the first couple of minuets I did get into the movie and enjoy it, after about 15 minuets in, it all goes down hill form there! My problem with this movie is that the actors are all trying far to hard to get camera time and in my opinion the budget is way too high. It was much better in the first movie because it was a relatively small budget and was original. They have in my opinion turned a classic movie into a corporate brand with this movie and destroyed it in the process.

If you enjoyed Anchorman: The legend of Ron Burgundy, then please don't see this movie, me and a number of my friends hated this pathetic excuse for a sequel.

Saw this in the cinema this week and it is obviously hilarious, it couldn't not be given the people in it. You're always going to compare it to the original and the truth is that it is not as good. However as a stand alone movie, it is still amazingly funny and just as quotable as the first.

The only negative things that I can say is that it is a bit too long, a couple of scenes seemed forced as they were trying to shoe in favourite bits from the old one (jazz flute/the mens fragrance cupboard) and near the end it is a bit crazy. I know the whole thing is crazy, but it is next level crazy, a bit like the Simpsons after season 6 when they ran out of ideas.

I would totally recommend going to see it. If you like the first, or any of the Ferrell films you will be rolling in the aisles.
