Crumble
When is a crumble not a crumble.
When it's crushed digestives over defrosted berries. For £6 !!
Dont advertise it as a crumble if its not going to be flour sugar butter baked in the oven...

Cheap Produce, Expensive Price, Rude Staff.
Poor quality food at high prices, wasn't happy and got asked for feedback for the chef, as I was giving it the waitress started talking over me on why my feedback was invalid. Just listen to me and go tell the chef or don't ask me in the first place. Its a drinking pub it ovs can't do food

So Disappointed
This was our 3rd visit since it reopened, the first was good, the second which was Sunday lunch not so good, this one was just about ok. The chairs are very uncomfortable, we were given a table almost on top of the log burner, and waited over half an hour for our meal which was disappointing when it arrived. My wife had cod loin, half the dish was mashed potato. I had a burger, which was dry and tasteless, fries were very dry. We used to go to the old Hollybush and wondered why we ever went anywhere else, cos it was so good. Now we are wondering why we went. Sorry Hollybush , doubt you will see us again.

Fabulous Sunday Roast
Just back from enjoying a fabulous Sunday Roast. The ham melted in my mouth and veg were done to perfection.
So nice to see such a lovely old pub open up again and done up nicely!
The Landlord and staff were so friendly and professional and glad to say kept very busy!

Just Don't
The third time in here since it re-opened, first time was awful second time was ok and now back to being awful.
After waiting for over 45 mins between starter and mains one of our dishes turned up with chunky chips barely cooked and with bad potatoes being used. My burger and fries turned up virtually inedible as it was dry with the fires having far too much salt on.
The Staff immediately halved the bill obviously recognising the poor quality of the food and service.
Overall a waste of time and money

Awful Experience
Went back after the revamp.
It has gone from a pub that oozed charm where they queued outside the door to just another generic boozer. The interior is vile in that horrible modern grey style you now see everywhere with no character and looks like a cheap McDonalds without the charm and the food bland and way, way overpriced.
Staff don`t seem to want to be there and judging by the manager I`m not surprised,a right nasty piece of work and judging by other reviews he`s replied to I`m not surprised.....NICE LOOKING PUB BUT PROOF BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP.....AVOID

No Customer Service Whatsoever
Booked for Sunday lunch, table was late which was ok however on seating us no drinks order was taken. After 20 minutes we asked to order drinks and food. Only one drink arrived with the other done 10 minutes later, starters ok but mains was a whole 45 mins later with absolutely no explanation or apology. On asking, as we were in the verge of leaving, it was being plated so gyms on! Food was ok but not as described on the menu, no apology or reduction in the bill for the wait. Appreciate the industry is struggling with staff but please don’t accept bookings if the whole experience leaves customers feeling invisible!
Whatever happened to good old fashioned customer service?
Very disappointed- a goldmine not being used to its full potential, we felt unimportant!

Great Food
My family and I went to the Holly bush at salt, we were celebrating our son’s graduation, the staff welcomed us ,seating us near an open door, as it was the hottest day recorded, Kristy took our drinks order very promptly and we looked at the menus deciding what food to order, she took our food order and was happy to change a few minor things, both ladies were friendly and knowledgeable about what was on the menu , polite and attentive. when the food came out of the kitchen it was lovely and hot and cooked beautifully everyone was pleased with their choices, I especially would like to congratulate the young man working in the kitchen he did an incredible job and was told he was only 16, the next celebrity chef I predict well done young man, thank you so much good food, wonderful staff, great evening xx

Slow Service
We were a party of four, seated at 2.15 ordered drinks...they came loaded with ice(we weren't asked if we wanted ice).Order taken for food, waited for 45mins before it arrived....the place was not even busy. Two ordered roasted salmon on a bed of leeks with fondant potato....the potato was Not a fondant it was a boiled and finished in deep fat fryer, was almost inedible as was hard in centre. Kleftico was a joke, griddled chicken was the only Order that was acceptable. I ordered desert, paid and left, there were lots of staff but little service. We definitely will not be back, nor would we recommend. The so called chef needs to go to be retrained or replaced by someone who knows what they are doing

Reopening Of Holly Bush At Salt Disappointed
Went for a meal to support reopening, early days I know and maybe a few teething problems, but very disappointed
We arrived and was shown to our table by a young girl who left menu’s and walked away, ( not her fault but obviously not trained up )we sat waiting for someone to come and take drinks orders,, a party of 4 arrived after us and were seated and immediately were asked if they would like to order drinks,( obviously locals with how they were talking ) had to attract the attention of someone to place our drinks order, the food was ok not brilliant one of us had the whipped goats cheese and fig it was nice but needed some sort of bread to balance it the amount of fig and goats cheese meant you just eating the cheese on it’s own not necessarily plated very nicely mine seemed to be just plonked on the plate and one of our guests had steak which he thought was on a winner until the second half which was full of gristle , maybe they had trouble with the heating but it was so cold which is not very comfortable when your dining, we have made the decision to try it again in a few weeks to see if anything has changed, hopefully they will have trained the staff and ironed out any problems hopefully next time we dine there won’t be our last we will see
