My Husband And I Booked A Table In Advance For Din

My Husband and I booked a table in advance for dinner at the Courtyard, Woolacombe Bay, last weekend. The booking was for 7.30pm, for the main evening menu. We really enjoyed the food and wine, but could see the next table, who sat down just after us, were being rushed through. They were finishing thier desert when our main meal was brought out! We were having a really pleasant evening, except for also feeling a little rushed. At 9.20pm the guy in charge came over and asked if we could leave the table as they had someone else that needed it! He suggested we sit in the lounge, which is just a sofa where people wait to be seated. We still had wine in our glasses and hadn't ordered our coffee yet! We were so shocked at how rude this was we didn't complain and just asked for our bill. We really couldn't believe he had asked us to leave the table, especially as we had spent in excess of £80 for two people, and we had been there for less than two hours! If we had been advised when booking that they were trying to fit in two bookings we would not have booked. We eat at many restaurants and when one claims to be ' fine dinning' we expect to be able to take our time and enjoy the 'evening out' at leisure rather than just eat our food and go!

We were really dissapointed with this service and how we were treated so for this reason we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, unless you like paying top prices to eat in a rush!
