Raffles, Torquay

I recently visited Raffles with my partner.The waitresses were polite enough. Unfortunately, the view to the harbour side was blocked by a roundabout and a skip.We ordered the 3-bean chilli Calzone (something new!) and Meditterranean Pizza. They'd run out of 3-bean chilli, so we went for the Vegetable Plot pizza instead.Unfortunately, when the pizzas arrived, it became apparent that they were missing other ingredients too. The Meditterranean was missing feta cheese, the peppers were fresh (not roasted), and fresh cherry tomatoes were used instead of sundried tomatoes. The Veg Plot was missing parsley and onions.When we complained, the chef explained that they had run out of sundried tomatoes (but obviously didn't think it worthwhile telling us). He also explained that the restaurant used a "70-30 mozzarella-feta blend" for the Med pizza, and that the Veg Plot used a "Napolitana Sauce" with blended onion. We failed to tell the difference in cheese or sauce base between the pizzas. On top of it all, the cheese layer was very thick.The one saving grace was the 2 pizzas for £10 offer. Pub food at pub prices. Otherwise not much good.
