Disappointing \ Overrated

I was in Jaipur on 10th Feb13 for their buffet lunch. Although we had a booking for five, the waiting period was long. Nobody asked us if we wanted to order any drinks while we waited. Finally, we had to complain before we were offered a table.

The buffet selection was very limited. They had salad, chips and kebabs for starters. The mutton beryani was dry and tasteless. The Kota and the meat dishes very average. The dal curry was watery. The descent menu was very limited - only one sweet dish with a few fruits.

The service was very slow and I have found some of the waiters rude. Our bill was over £85.00 and it was not really worth it - below average food and very poor service

Overpriced

Disappointed with price though service was good apart from them collecting 1 empty plates before we had both finished eating. We had two mains, 4 popadoms, 2 naan, 1 aloo gobi, 1 wine, 2 cokes and 2 desserts and it came to £55. The waiter did not leave our bill so we could see if we had been charged properly and in hind site we should have asked for it. The aloo gobi consisted of 2 cauliflower florets and half a potato and the mains were no better consisting almost entirely of sauce. The taste of the food was good but it was totally overpriced for the portion sizes.

This Restaurant Is Totally Overpriced For The Qual

This Restaurant is totally overpriced for the quality of the food and service it offers. Worst Indian meal we have ever had. Don't waste your money. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating their customers in that way.

Absolutely awful. The manager agreed to refund the cost of my meal but then did not do so. When I queried this - having checked with my bank - he stated that he was not making the refund because he did not see why he should. So Jaipur provide dreadful food and then lie about providing a refund. Do not give this restaurant your credit or debit card. We have found that the management are dishonest.

As An Appreciator Of Indian Food And Also Of India

As an appreciator of indian food and also of indian origin, I found the staff seemed to have little customer service skills.

I thought the food was over priced and nothing special. The quantity / portion was not sufficient for me.

If you want a decent indian meal go to Southall in West London. There you pay less extortionate prices and you get decent size portions. Alternative suggestion, learn to cook your indian food at home. You will find a meal for two will cost you less then a tenner.

Milton Keynes, Indian, Jaipur: I Was Very Disappoi

Milton Keynes, Indian, Jaipur: I was very disappointed having booked on the recommendation of the Good Curry Guide. I found the service to be bad. We were left waiting for 25 minutes with no drinks, menu or even acknowledgement that we were there. The food was poor, very spicey hot but with no taste other than being hot. We actually had to leave one of the dishes as it tasted like a supermarket microwave curry. After 25 years of eating in Indian restaurants across the UK, this rates as our worst experience ever. How it won awards I'll never know.

I Have Always Found The Food And Atmosphere At Jai

I have always found the food and atmosphere at Jaipur to be of the highest quality. Their menu is unique and not like most Indian restuarants in the area.

The waiters used to be reasonably good although on a more recent visit we found they were very unhelpful and at times rude. This could have been a one off but they all seemed to have the same attitude that day.

Jaipur Is One Of The Very Few Fine Dining Outlets

Jaipur is one of the very few fine dining outlets in UK.The food is good with an innovative menu. The ambience is really impressive .It's a pleasure to dine there. The waiters should have more enthusiasm -they look unhappy-not a good thing for a restaurant.
