Though Perhaps You Can Consider These A More Entry
Though perhaps you can consider these a more entry level two way radio these have served me well for the 4 or 5 years I have had them. I bought mine as a pair with a charging stand from a outdoor pursuits store specifically for an impending hiking trip on which they paid for themselves whilst we all ambled around in foggy conditions!
The simplistic 5 button radios are ridiculously easy to use. So much so my friends have taken to them without instruction! We now have 6 in our group when there are only about 10 at any one time going out hiking or skiing etc.
The clarity of the radios is great with 3 different atmosphere settings to adjust for louder and quieter surroundings. A volume control of course. it is important to note that sound quality from the speaker is reduced with higher volume.
Settings for up to 304 different private channels for a group to set to and personalised ringing tones (1 from 5 available) helps to get each others attention first rather than having to say your instructions multiple times!
The belt clips included with these radios have been a permanent attachment to my ski pack and I never ski without them. They're great.
With the possible addition of headsets for both voice activated (VOX) or push to talk (PTT) arrangements using the single pin jack on the unit these really are a great buy for non professional two way radio requirements

If you're interested in stepping up to the next tier I would highly recommend checking out the new CP200d. It's a digital version of Motorola's classic analog CP200 and it makes for a very affordable entry point into the digital two-way spectrum.
