I hired a Tom Tom sat nav for use in Canada, it must have been several years old as the touch screen brought up incorrect letters & numbers when pressed, making it pretty useless.

I advised cheapsatnavhire before going on holiday but have just seen they've had the cheek to take the full rental price.

I'm getting Room 404 when I try & search them on google now which looks ominous! avoid !!

Hired a Tom Tom for use in New Zealand. Could not get it to work. Defective. Tried to communicate several times. No response. Do not use this company

We hired a satnav to use on our trip to South Africa. This ancient satnav was broken and could not be fixed to the windscreen. More importantly it was faulty and kept reverting to the first address programmed. The history could not be deleted, and it proved utterly useless. We emailed a couple of days into our holiday to report this and were promised a full refund, which of course never arrived, and the company are not responding to our emails.

Really, really wish I had read the reviews before I hired from this company. The Sat Nav they sent us stopped working as soon as we hit France leaving us with no device for a journey through France and Spain (thank goodness for Google Maps on the phone!) Like others on this site I have emailed and messaged them with no response and, or course, no refund. Avoid at all costs!

The sat nav we received proved no use for our trip away. Didn't recognise destinations or new roads, took us to a wrong address and generally making the journey on several occasions not enjoyable having to endure constant wrong messages or bleeping. On our return home I checked the version and it appears to be around 7 years old. I emailed the company and they haven't had the decency to reply. This appears to be normal behaviour judging by other reviews which I wish I checked beforehand. Also cost over £7.00 to return!

Like a good many others, I was also supplied with a defective sat nav. I returned it promptly with a request for a refund but have been ignored. Wish I had looked at these reviews before going ahead.

I hired a satnav from cheapsatnav.co.uk to use while on a trip to the USA. I received confirmation of my order and £39.99 was charged to my credit card. When the unit arrived it was impossible to use because the windscreen mount was perished. I informed cheapsatnav.co.uk of the problem and requested a refund of the payment as the unit was faulty. I returned the unit by first class signed for delivery as requested at a cost of £8.55 and asked for repayment of the hire charge and postage.

I have had no acknowledgement of my emails or letter and no refund.

I would not recommend using this online company.

Usually I don't take to writing any sort of reviews but my experience of Cheap Satnav Hire left me stunned.

I had no problems in ordering the equipment and it promptly arrived on time - we were going to Florida.

When we arrived in the US and turned the unit on we found that it didn't work, there was no support center to call and no one to support.

Eventually I was promised a refund but after returning the unit and then writing to them reminding them of the refund they made no effort to make contact and arrange the refund as agreed.

I was left with no alternative but to go through my bank which promptly secured the refund, but like many of the previous reviewers I was also left out of pocket by £9.00 by way of postage.

cheapsatnavhire.are a rip off, they have no customer care, supply you with faulty equipment, don't honour their refund comittments and cant be contacted.

Avoid at all costs!

Machine arrived on time but did not work!!! - No telephone number so emailed - no reply - returned unit with a letter requesting a refund - no reply

On return from holiday negotiated a full refund from credit card but out of pocket by £9.00 the cost of returning the unit.

It is not what goes wrong, but how businesses react that is important - reading other reviews (which I should have done before ordering) and my own experience clearly demonstrates this business's complete lack of any interest in any customer care

First and last time, should have done my research but was a last min thing.

Arrived in good time so full credit for that. Found out later can buy the map cheaper on Amazon, if you go more than once you make your money back. Gutted I wasted money on this. Company was good to deal with but just just not worth it its ok for emegency
