I Have Always Been A Gym Person, I Enjoy Running A
I have always been a gym person, I enjoy running a lot (about 30k a week) and weight training. I had a few months off due to lots of big changes in Job and house, so the new year has started and I am ready to get back on it. I purchased this after seeing lots of info about it, as well as receiving an ipod touch for Christmas which has the receiver built in which was something I didn't realise, but this is great as I don't need to plug the receiver in to the ipod. it has a great interface on the ipod itself to monitor your performance, times, distance and it makes you even more motivated to push that bit further. when I run outside I don't tend to keep a huge record of how far I run, but at the gym it is stored on my technogym key. As I will be moving gym, I no longer have the facility, but with this new device, not only can I keep track, I have it on me all the time, I know when I am slacking. once you are up and running (pun?) you can log on to nikeplus.com to set up and account, create an avatar, and sync all your data online. you don't need to do this, but it is another social network provided to link people with a similar interest in running. it has really helped me get fitness training back on track after a totally indulgent Christmas, so well worth a purchase.
Cons: the sensor needs to go in your shoe, so you can either fork out for expensive Nike trainers that have a hidden compartment in, or purchase one of the many sensor pouches for your laces. bit annoying having to buy another part, could have been packaged with one, but never mind. I paid £20 from HMV, so look around, could be cheaper online, but I'm impatient.
